When can family mediation assist?
If you are separating or cannot reach an agreement on a family matter (such as finances or parenting arrangements) then family mediation can be the best way of solving these issues as an alternative to going to court.
Mediation is a voluntary and confidential process designed to resolve personal disputes using a neutral third party "the mediator" to facilitate an agreement. A mediator will help both parties work towards a mutually satisfactory outcome. The mediator does not judge or impose a solution but ensures that any settlement is agreed by the parties.
It is usually far faster and cheaper than opting for court.
It is tailored to your needs, concerns and interests rather than simply a legal answer.
Wouldn't you rather be assisted by a mediator to make your own decisions as to your (and your child(ren)'s) future than have them imposed by the court?
If you are considering divorce or separation
If you wish to move to another country with your child
If you are involved in court proceedings
If you are in dispute over the arrangements for your children
If you cannot agree on how your assets should be divided
